TRICOT INTERLINING

TRICOT INTERLINING (FusiKnit Tricot Fusible Interfacing)

The interlining fabric is the behind the scenes workhorse of the garment industry: it adds body, structure, durability, and volume to any type of garment, from the lightest silk dresses to bulky coats and outerwear, applied to the inside of the garment. Our interfacing fabrics are fusible and applied using an iron.

Tricot is characterized by fine, vertical Wales on the surface and crosswise ribs on the back. It has good draping qualities and is frequently used for lingerie and as backing for laminated fabric.Tricot interfacing is so versatile. It is traditionally used to stabilize knit fabrics because of its stretch, but it can also be used with woven fabrics.

If you’ve never used tricot interfacing before, you’re going to love it. The non-fusible side is super smooth, making it comfortable against your skin. It also provides support, shape, and body without adding a lot of bulk to your garment.

The first step in most sewing patterns is to attach your interfacing to the wrong side of your fabric. When your garment is finished, your interfacing will actually be hidden by the lining, but it’s a step you don’t want to skip. Applying fusible tricot interfacing to your fabric is not difficult, but it’s always a good idea to test it on scraps before using it on your garment.

Some examples of tricot fabric are sleepwear, boluses, dresses etc. usually has a complex lace-like pattern. a wide variety of fabrics ranging from nets & laces to bed spreads & carpets, various types of edgings or trimmings lace are also produced.
